The beach is a gorgeous setting for family photos. It is one of my favourite places to photograph families in the summer. Kids and babies love exploring on the beach, which makes it a great opportunity to capture natural and authentic family moments.
When choosing what to wear for your session, go with a neutral and muted colour pallette at the beach. We have a full client wardrobe which is complimentary with our portrait sesssion experience. It ensures everyone looks coordinated and saves our families so much time and stress! No more shopping for outfits, returns, and struggling to put together a cohesive look.
Want some tips for a successful family session? Let your kids know ahead of time what to expect to help prepare them. Mention it a couple times in the week leading up to the session. Promise them a little incentive (ice cream!) after the session to help them get a little excited.
At your session just try to relax and be yourselves. Let your kids be kids and try not to place too much pressure on them to pose perfectly. I know that kids have a mind of their own, and I go with the flow and adapt as I need to. I have lots of tricks up my sleeve to get them engaged and capture natural smiles.
After our sessions, we help families decide how best to display their photos, whether that be a beautiful album for their coffee table, or a gallery wall to display in their home and walk by every day, bringing a smile to their faces.
